Real jocks do it for 8 hours a night

sleep deprivation knocks testosterone levels Real jocks do it for 8 hours a nightIf you want to be a man’s kind of man – then make sure you don’t stay up too late. Too little sleep can turn you into a sorry looking wimp.

It takes a full nights sleep to load up with testosterone

Researchers from the University of Chicago discovered that a week of sleeping for less than five hours a night, was enough to decimate testosterone levels in young health men.

Ten lean healthy male students, in their early twenties, were enrolled in the sleep study.

  • On the first three nights of the study, they slept in the lab for up to ten hours.
  • Then the lights went on, and they were restricted to less than 5 hours sleep, for the next 8 night

Testosterone levels were monitored at the end of each phase of the study.

Old before your time

Testosterone levels typically decline by 1% to 2% a year.

Participants in the study felt increasingly fatigued and freaked out as the study progressed. The study found, a week of pushing the envelope through short changing sleep, dropped the testosterone levels by 10 to 15 %.

Do the maths – 7 days adds 10 years or more to your biological age.

Low testosterone is a health crisis

Testosterone levels impact more than just bedroom prowess, sleep loss impacts male vitality and health.

Testosterone deficiency is associated with

  • Not being in the mood (decreased libidio)
  • Poor concentration and fatigue
  • Decreased muscle mass and bone density

NOTE : Sleep deprivation also disrupts metabolism, leading to cardiovascular disease and insulin resistance (diabetes).

Too little sleep turns young men wimpy

Bee warned, bees only work the day shift in the land of the midnight sun, it is not macho to climb into bed after the midnight, night in and night out.

NB. Strive to be the guy with the most testosterone ie. the alpha male since HE RULES THE WORLD.
